"The future of education in the face of emerging technologies"

Lucio Botelho  17 November 2014

As for point 1 - I really think it's essential that our students and peers learn and teach how to take full advantage of the new digital technologies in education.
But for that we have to train teachers, staff and students in its correct use. We are already light years away from other countries, as technology has evolved very quickly and if we spend too much time responding to new developments, we run the serious risk that when we talk about them they will already be obsolete!
2 - Educational content should increasingly focus on guiding students towards subjects, leaving them, or rather teaching them, to collect all the information found on the WEB and to filter which is the most correct for the intended purposes. .. only then will we be educating...
We cannot force knowledge, we must guide knowledge, above all awaken curiosity, lead each student to go further alone. Questioning yourself on a daily basis what else you can discover... the teacher will increasingly be a supervisor and not a mere academic who repeats the same subject year after year...

"Apps to learn. What challenges?"

Lucio Botelho  17 November 2014

The big problem with most free apps is that they can always be used to collect information about their users... a bit like the philosophy of Google and FACEBOOK... as long as we don't care about that collection we can use and abuse
however, we have to bear in mind that many apps ask for access to almost ALL of our data and the tlmv's functionalities can, in practice, KNOW and control all of our equipment

"To what extent can the use of mobile technologies enhance student involvement in school activities?"

Lucio Botelho  17 November 2014

Children are born with technology in their arms, new technologies (smartphones and tablets) are already the babysitters of the future.
So, what takes time for us to absorb in new technologies is almost an acquired fact for them.
Because the vast majority of devices are tactile and this greatly facilitates their motor acquisition, but on the other hand we cannot forget that they are children and that parents and educators have to establish the barriers or limits of even these can explore.
Therefore, in teaching, we must use, without abusing, new technologies...

"Emerging Technologies"

Lucio Botelho  November 17, 2014

For a teacher in the field of ICT, in which “BYOD or Bring Your Own Device is a constant, an implicit need in his discipline, he encounters increased difficulties in obtaining capable equipment for his students and the deficit of the infrastructures provided by the entities/educational institutions and by the families of the students.
In addition, we have the problem of the lack of preparation of Institutions, Parents and Educators, in monitoring and observing student safety methodologies with regard to dangerous content that is easily accessible by them.
“You have to train to implement it safely”
As for distance teaching and self-learning, it is important not to forget that not everyone manages to evolve in this way and that the school is not only a space for acquiring knowledge, but also for training people for the surrounding society.
The use of smartphones and new devices are a new informal means of learning that we should integrate into the classroom space. Technology is by our side, it is an integral part of our lives and will be the future of humanity, we have to teach and learn to tame it. So that you can get the most out of it without suffering many of the harmful effects that it may bring (such as isolation between peers, viruses, trojans, information leaks, etc..)

Creation of QR codes

There are several sites that allow you to create QR codes for free, here are some examples from the simplest to the most complex with images included.
